Anyone help?

I have the wolf professional 3.5hp model. Worked a few days ago now nothing at all. Plugged directly into wall socket, drained tank completely and replaced plug fuse. I have a new start capacitor ordered, and hit the reset button. could you suggest anything else?

Pressure switch possibly.

As above I’d get a meter on the pressure switch check it’s not stuck in the up to pressure state the motor won’t be getting juice if it is.

Yeah should be a screw to remove the cover then test for voltage, motors usually hum when the caps have gone

Got ya think I was a bit hasty ordering the start Cap. Will test switch and come back

You got a quick step by step for testing the switch?

There will be three wires in if it's just single phase then three out to the motor, if you're safe working with live mains plug it in and test the live wires Into the switch then test at the connections going out to the motor, you should see 240 volts going to the motor, if the cover comes off with the little red start button attached the compressor should be in the on position already

Thanks everyone, I took the cover off tested for power on both sides, all good. So i blew some air at it and give the switch a nudge up and down, plugged back in and it tripped. Blew out again and replaced cover, plugged in and she runs again. Thanks everyone for the help, guess il just keep the start cap as a spare.

If it stops again, with it unplugged, if you can see the switch contacts push down on the switch to open the contacts put some fine wet and dry paper release the switch and pull the paper out to clean up the contacts

Thank you will do that, been doing alot of sanding so I guess the contacts just caught alot of the dust.

Back to the sanding......
