I have a sealey SA2001FR filter regulator which leaks from under the regulator know when you try to reduce the pressure, it may have always done this as I haven't used it much
I thought I would use a Workzone filter regulator I bought last year but had never used, when I got it out it was nearly identical to the sealey and the only physical difference is the 1/4 inch ports rather than the half inch
I fitted the new regulator up and it is so simlar that it also leaks from under the regulator control
I took the Sealey apart and cannot see how it could do anything other than leak, there is a large plastic piston with a rubber seal round it pushed down by a large spring adjusted by the knob. Right in the middle of the piston there is a small hole (by design apparently) and there is also a hole in the top of the plastic cover so like I said it seems designed to leak
I believe it is plumbed the correct way round as there are triangles on the body and I assume they point in the direction that air should flow. The workzone valve has the same triangles and takes it a step further with In marked on one side and Out on the other
Has anyone made one of these work? and if so how did you do it please?
I am tempted to block the central hole up and try that but if anyone has already found the answer I would love to hear it
Thanks
