anyone made a snow shovel on wheels?

Hi just wondered if anyone has made or used one of these. Seems like an ideal welding project. If anyone has used one are they useful in anything above a couple of inches of snow? The ground clearance of the plough seems to be dictated by the angle of the handle but not sure if that is ideal when your trying to push it and it digs into ground. Hi

i can shed abit of light on the subject for you. the snow shovels we use are ether alu or plastic with an alu front edge. the problem you may have is the wheels as they will dig into the snow. the only wheel type ones we get in the alps have an engine and throw the snow off to one side. most types just kind of slide on the snow.

that just just crap, pathetically small ammount of snow for the effort of tipping it out the scoop

2 of us cleared the road faster with shovels than the council squad with a rotovator thing with a blade on it

(mind the Mrs and me are from Irish stock and you cant beat a couple of Paddys with shovels)

Big sticks work well but a rubber hose filled with shot is better

P.S. my Grandad was Irish and the above is not to be taken seriously

I find if you leave snow where it is it eventually goes away on it's own.

I was thinking of getting a quad bike with a PTO and keep it just for occasions when the drive is covered. ( My drive is 200 metres and uphill.!)

Father in law in Canada..his snow blower was a chain drive attachment off his petrol cylinder mower .Taken off at the same point as the cylinder recieved its drive just an extra bolt on gear. Set the cutters to 1 inch high , attach the blower put the chain & tensioner on , put the safety cover on the chain point the discharge tube where you want it and away you go.

The blower fan was a 15 inch fan heavy plastic with five blades similar to a car electric cooling fan.

I never actually saw it in action for during that summer it was + 44 o C out there. But in the last winter it was - 44 o C , Eric said it performed like a hero once he'd got it warmed up with a hot air gun in the shed and got it started. His drive through to the rear of the back yard was only 30 yards

There is a nice looking Robo now blower on line.. operate it from the front room , watch it through the window whilst watching all the other poor saps freezing their nuts and bolts off.

Wow....a radio controlled snow blower.....sounds like a project.
