Anyone within EASY striking distance of Daventry?

As title, is anyone near Davenrty? Reason is I'm watching a 50L compressor on the 'Bay but the Seller says it's for collection only as he threw away the packing/box etc. Auction finishes in a couple of days.

If I were to bid and win, would anyone be prepared to collect it [I'll pay the Seller through P/Pal, so nothing to lay out except fuel and time for which I'd happily send beer tokens] and box it for my Courier to uplift. It only weighs 22kg in total but I don't have the dimensions. However it's an upright tank so it can't bee too space hungry in terms of transporting and storage, I think hope? Well, hopefully withing Courier max dimensions, anyway.

I'll contact the Seller to measure it for me - if it's outwith what the Courier will accept, then I won't go ahead.

Might be worth checking make/model on manufacturers website for sizes as you don't know how accurate the sellers measuring skills are.

You might well be right

Halfords do these, as do Amazon and various other equipment sellers, but nobody seems to quote dimensions and I'm 40 miles from the nearest Halfords store - not sure I'd trust their measuring any more than the Sellers...... Oddly enough, I can't find any makers website - would it be possible someone does an Alibaba and sells them to retailers in the UK?

Anyone have any actual experience of these [probably Chinese generic] machines? My main reasons for interest are small footprint and capacity, which is double my Lidl jobbie.

I'm only about 10 miles from Daventry, happy to help out but it will all have to happen in the comming week as I'll be away after that.

I don't know where in the highlands you are but will it not be cheaper to buy a new one and have it delivered rather than faffing around with ebay,packaging and couriers ?

Auction finishes tomorrow with only one bid of £50 so far. New ones are c. £140 + p&p [unless I go 80 miles round trip to Inverness to collect one. Just checked Halfords w/site and they have it at £130 online from Toolstore at a small cost], although there would be the added benefit of a warranty.

You might just be right, a couple of Couriers are higher than I expected. I'll do a bit more searching, Shipley seems to be taking a while to post up quote.

Seller responded to request for dimensions as 34cm x 34cm x 100cm height. Will watch auction tomorrow and depending on closing bid + courier costs I'll decide if it's worth the hassle for you. Offer is much appreciated meantime.

@Parm Took a sensible pill and didn't bid on the compressor, just not worth the hassle what with distance/nuisance to others etc. involved.

You're willingness to help is greatly appreciated and re-enforces once again what a great place this is.
