Hi folks, try not to laugh me out of town.
Despite owning one for about a year I've never used a compressor before (bought one when the opportunity arose, I was thinking ahead) and am self taught with everything so haven't learned on the job from anyone else.
The compressor didn't come with a regulator or a water separator, it's just got the one dial that reads the tank pressure. I've just got round to buying my first air tool - a small R Tech plasma cutter - thankfully that's got a regulator and water trap on the back but I assume that there are air tools that don't have regulators and water traps built in so I'll need to install something inline.
Given how bare the compressor came (and the plasma cutter didn't come with a hose) I'm wondering what else is there possibly missing that I'm either going to need now, or in the future...you don't know what you don't know. Can anyone offer me any dumbed down words of wisdom for parts I might want to buy now, or things to be aware of?
If there are decent quality all-in-one regulators and water separators then for simplicity's sake I'd like to go down that road. Is that advisable? I would want to fix it to the wall near my compressor so it's more accessible. My compressor is a belt driven 3ph, 5.5hp, 200L, cuts out at 150psi and cuts in at 120psi. Already properly wired up by an electrician.
I've tried looking for these answers in the manual, but it assumes you know the basics - which I don't - and the grumpy man at the technical help line was about as unresponsive and monosyllabic as Kevin from Harry Enfield & Chums, so no help.
Thanks in advance.
