Hi guys (and ladies?!),
Would some kind soul in the Bristol area be interested in helping tutor me in fabricating a fairly simple design for a car inlet manifold with me please?. It's for a major car tuning project I am doing (Blog is here: https://sites.google.com/site/z20letpower/ ). I have never done any MIG or TIG before but I am a practical person and keen to learn, ideally with someone who knows the ropes.
The inlet manifold I wish to fab is based on a mild steel flange (which I already have) and butt welding 4 pipe runners onto it, each approx 12 inches long. The other ends of the runner will need to union in a 4-1 join. The design is quite simple and I'd be keen to watch/have a go with someone kind enough to show me. I am most happy to pay for gas + consumables and some pocket money for helping me out.
I am hoping that if it goes well, I may consider buying my own MIG or TIG kit, it's just that I'd like to have a go/watch a bit first and get my confidence up with someone who knows their stuff. I have some other slightly more complex jobs as well involving aluminium pipework, brackets etc that I hope to move onto later.
Feel free to PM me if you feel the inclination
Thanks in advance,
Neville.
