attaching wire mesh to metal frame

Has any one got a good way of attaching mesh to metal frame. I am making large and small animal enclosures. Using both 50 mm plastic coated mesh an 19 mm galvanized mesh. At the moment I have been wireing it on, but looks rubbish. I have thought about sandwiching it on with a bit of 20 mm x 3 mm then potriverting it but will be costly and time consuming. Any good ideas

Mesh comes in different sizes.I'm assuming the mesh is a large? any pics?

Was gonna suggest popping the rivets through these top and bottom corners and middles.

I think clamping it behind some flat bar is your most secure option otherwise.

Ive done a few cages that needed a mesh infill.

From my experience, unless the mesh is mega heavy duty I would avoid welding it because the mesh distorts.

Clips are the way to go- I tried making my own for a 50 x 50 mesh, they worked but the labour time messing about with fiddly clips means buying them in is the best bet.

For the smaller 19mm mesh you could use 25mm penny washers and tek screws. For the larger stuff I would suggest making your own plates but instead of buying plain 20x3 you could go to a builders merchant and get a few lengths of strapping for wall plates. It comes as 25x3 or 25x6 galvanised steel in lengths up to 1.5m and the beauty of it is that the holes are already drilled in it so all you need it to cut it in lengths. Again I would use tek screws to fasten them.

Another alternative is cable ties, a bit tidier than wire.

i would sandwich the mesh between two metal frames and bolt them together.
or plug weld the frames together with the mesh sandwiched between.

being animal enclosures you don't want sharp screws or bolt ends etc pointing inwards.

How about 1M long, galv roofing straps they are pre drilled you could then use tec screws through straps and into frame quick and easy cover a large area with minimal screws and no rust

I only meant to weld the galv mesh which will be fine with a bit of ventilation and I don't think T0rnado69 is implying welding the actual mesh, just welding a frame to sandwich it which would work fine for the galv mesh, maybe not so good for the plastic coated if it gets hot whilst welding.

cheers for all the input . picture of the 50mm square mesh on goose enclosure. I haven't made the small movable chicken runs using the smaller mesh but think the idea of DanielM using screw cup thingies and pop riveting them through the mesh will be the way to go. maybe the little p clip things are the way to go for this but can see it soon adding up.
