I picked up a Weldmatic 175 yesterday but haven't plugged it into power yet. It does look ever so nice though. I chose that brand after hearing about one who uses and sells mig welders - and that size as it's my first mig and will be using it for mainly rusty car repairs. Was on a car forum here and he used Weldmatic and Lincoln in the same sentence and UniMig, CIG and one other whose name escapes, in the next. I have checked here in Tas and we have a local shop that sells and supports the brand plus their website has just about everything on it. Can't got too wrong with a 3 year warranty.
I have an AIS (Australian Industrial Supplies) catalogue (April/March) here and it lists the 255 at $3350.
Looks like a tidy welder. Starting current of 35 amps would be a little high for some of the things I do, but you probably don't have French cars over there since the mid 1960s so that wouldn't be so much of a problem for you.
Seeing a eurotorch on the machine is a good sign of quality. Did it come with the trolley?

It came in 2 boxes, the one the welder was in said must ship with trolley so they may have had a few slip-ups in the past. A bonus Miller auto helmet was also in with the deal but no sign of that. Should be here by the end of next week. Low on the 175 is 30 amps and has 9 voltage settings.
Then maybe, I'll plug it in. Might have a bottle of gas by then too. E size here is A$100 plus 150 a year rental. Did get a 5kg roll of 0.6mm wire and only need some mild steel sheet to practice on.
It is a shame about the French. Cars having such thin metal.
