Awning rail bends and sikaflex 252

After having a really rough few days health wise and weather wise i am now able to source a needle in a haystack.

I need some aluminium awning rail which i can get easily........FAR more difficult is rail with bends in. Especially off the shelf.

I am told a marine chandlers might be a better bet but as i am now in Brean finding one with stock and open over a bank holiday weekend seems nigh on impossible.

I am also in need of sikaflex 252 as i am told its got twice as much adhesion than 251.

I am working on the principle that if i can find a chandlers/supplier of bent aluminium they are more likely to have sikaflex 252.

Is Bristol an area that would have stuff like this available on a Bank holiday or am i more likely to find it in plymouth.....or am i hoping for too much. ?

Screwfix list/stock "Silkaflex EBT" don't know if it will do the job, can you not get the rail from a caravan place, surely there must be one open close to you?

ETB is a much lower spec mate.

Caravan places only sell the straight rail i also need bends which seem to be like rocking horse manure.

I have just got off the phone to a caravan breakers who reckon they have the ali rail and bends i need so i have to wait till they are back open monday. Bit of a treck but needs must. Its suppose to rain here sunday anyway so fitting it in the rain is a no no to be fair.

Thanks for that mate. It look like he does not do 90 degree angle bends. Although the rails he does are quality .

Have you tried Somerset County Caravans or Highbridge Caravans ?

I assume you are adding this as a new item and not repairing an original ?
I read somewhere about someone bending some themselves after warming it up and sticking a number plate in the slot to support it as they bent it *

I did try Baileys......what a waste of time that was. Lol.

Sika dont even know why they sell their stock to so finding sika 205 in a shop anywhere let alone close was a non starter.

I resorted to ebay as i actually managed to locate some sika 552 in a local camping shop.

And THEN......APC struck. A massive cock up in Cannock meant thousands of overnight parcels were not shipped so my sika 205 activator never turned up.....they reckon they will be playing catch up tommorow so it might not come again let alone before 12 midday......in the meantime i removed all the Wurths adhesive and a Bankholiday trip to a caravan breakers saw me come back (after paying £6.70) to just get into the place with some extremely expensive awning rail for 40 quid per length.
Bends have proved impossible to source at anything other than crazy prices so i am looking to recycle a pair of second hand ones, although i will need to reprofile and paint then white to match the new stuff.
