Hi, have watched this site for a while, now thought be polite and introduce myself.
Live in dorset, hate rainy weekends.
Found the site via malcome, and clementine, yes i have a R4gtl, just begging to be welded!!!!!!!
Should not be a problem, did evening classes, thirty years ago, in gas, mma, and mig, and just love gas, very civilised way to weld.
The mig i was used to, was esab, big as a bungalow, but got nice welds.
Yes should have found this site years ago, but had some spare money few years ago, and bought a SIP mig welder
Just about to sign up for a large bottle of gas, or as i call it being mugged.
Will start with the Sip, but looks like, fool and his money etc, the question is, should i buy a new clark, or second hand Murex, etc, only need 240v, but will be used on very low amps.
Last thing use oxy propane, for silver solder in my business, now see same kits being sold as welding kits, have tried, but nowhere near hot enough. Is it Mapp gas, that makes the difference?
Happy welding
Chris.
