Balancing Machine Restro.

I have been working on an IRD B150 Balancing machine, we got it from a Motor Manufacturer last year and have been slowly making it right. In one of the pictures you can see that some new box section has been welded in, the damage was done when w job fell off the bearing assembly. No idea what size job it was but it made a mess and I regret not getting some pictures of it before. Not got a top finish on the paint but even after de-greasing for hours the paint still went on like crap, in the end we did the third coat with a roller and it improved it no end. The IRD 290 instrument that calculates the unbalance and correction weights also threw its hand in on Tuesday night so it was a rush job getting that up and running again and tested.

Now that we have got it all back together and ran it we need new bushes for the belt tension pulleys, 4 new bearings for the rollers and 2 new bearings for the thrust bars. Its hopefully off to Bahrain in the next few weeks to spend its life getting abused. I have been trying to get the boss to send me and stick an extra week on so I see my uncle who live in that part of the world.

I hope it gives you an insight into what I get up to when I am not on site and also getting to see what kit balances small turbines, motor armatures and fans etc.
