Basic tig helmet

I have a Jackson Auto helmet I have been using for years on Mig and stick.
No problems with it, however I am now playing with Tig and it is very bright at times. Can be ok then when going into a certain part of Stainless it goes white light leaving me cross eyed. Inside the hat on lense it has a high or low sensitivity circle?
I have never touched them.......do you flip the lense or something? There are also 2 led things on the outside, no batterys or owt.

If it is no good for Tig can guys recommend the cheapest suitable helmet for my occasional Tig use?

Many helmets are not sensitive enough for low amp DC tig, and will not stay latched in the dark state, one thing you could try is to set the sensitivity to Max, and if it has it set the delay to max or long,
If not then one of these will do you, I use one all the time right down to 10 amps at times

The indicators of sensitivity inside lens plate? What are you to do with them? Are they adjustable?

There's supposed to be an adjuster in the circles, looks like you've got the no frills model!

What do u guys think about 3M's speedglass.series?

I have an old Prostar auto darkening with aensitivity and shaee adjustment. But rescently on that thock aluminum i was welding at 200+ amps, when id let go of the pedal, one second later it would un-shade for a second, and then darken again. I got quit a few flashes until I got in the habit to close my eye when od let go of the pedal.

Having only one eye makes this subject very important for me. Id say forget fancy hoses and fancy accesorries and purchase the BEST helmet possible. FOR EVERYONE!

guys, just picked up a 3M SpeedGlass 9100XX and all I have to say that its a day and night difference. What an amazing helmet. Well worth the 650$...

will post pics soon. The craftsmanship is great, made in Sweden...

The Miller Titanium helmet has an "X mode" which triggers on the EMF from the arc, not the light, and that works brilliantly with TIG at all currents.

I've been searching for this for a long time! i have used a selection of helmets and ever since I've moved to low amp Tig i'm having trouble with all of mine not staying latched.

the cheaper mask seems only to work on higher amps, felt like i might be getting in the way with my arms or something silly but tried every angle and its definitely low amp work. also ive tried replacing batteries,

now looking at the speedglas 9100.... does anyone know if this is light or emf... or maybe both.
