Hey guys... can you please suggest a paint or method how to protect BBQ/grill steel from the rust? I have seen a black type of color painted BBQ/grilles sold in shops and it does look pretty.... The steel will take the direct heat from the burning coal / tree billets.....

if the steel is takeing full heat then any paint will burn off

The black finish, on the quality ones anyway, is black nickel. It still comes off after a while. you could get it chrome plated.
I would shot blast it clean and use it! if you wash it soon after use, and keep it indoors it wil stay relatively rust free.
When i was young, we used to use the radiator grille from the land rover for barbeques when camping, didn't do it much good and it was a b*****d to clean! and i'm sure the galvanising wasn't good for us.

I just get the grill red-hot low over the coals and burn off the residue from the last bar-b-q then before cooking just wire brush it clean and brush on some cooking oil.
My grille is cast iron and started life nicely painted black, but the paint or coating only lasted one bar-b-q.
