belle cement mixer died suspect switch ?

ok bit of info or what i can give the mixer was working up to the last half an hour of needing it

the last mix (could been worse as could haver died at start of job i suposse )press green button nothing no hum movment or anthing

i will add some pics

its a belle i think 150 mixer its very old and come to me out of a skip that later had an upgrade to a 2w paddle drum rather than the one it had when i got it after i seen another thrown away

the only parts ive seen seam to be a lot newer than what ive got ?

Bypass the switch and see if that fixes it ?

I bought 2 cheapo's from Aldi/Lidl a few years ago, both had lose connections at the switch so they wouldn't work straight out of the box.
2 minutes tightening the wire and they worked fine

Mine did the same recently and it was the capacitor. I opened it up for a look and the capacitor had very obviously blown so it diagnosed itself.

I dont know. Mine had kind of exploded - well, a lot of the internals were external to it when mine went so it was very obvious. Yours doesnt look too bad. I dont know how to test them.

im getting power 240 to the contactor but nothing to otherside i think hard to say when i dont know what points i need to cheak looking at photos on side of contacter live an neutal when button is pressed you should see power on the otherside of contacter

as the power applyed should hold it in for run ?

you need to disconnect the capacitor, you'll need a half decent multimeter that tests capacitance. should say on the side.

According to google they are 25uF or 110uF

ok had a look is the contacter there is broken plastic where there should not be its got old and degraded over time

50 quid and the drum on mine is well gone can't justify that any other options ?

I have mine going through a normal machine switch like on the side of pillar drills etc They do a 6 and 7 wire one too

This is very basic wiring. Any dol starter would work or single phase machine switch like roofman says
