Not really a project, got from @eLuSiVeMiTe who could have sold for a lot more given time as its very nice, solid, good shelving and cracking SS top. Cleaned and painted shelving and some other parts, rest of the frame sections were good.
But the 2 foot space was too tall for me and could make better use if I added another shelf.
Looked at getting some stock to make another shelf support, but a bit expensive to justify, looked at used racking and picked these up for £5 a 1.8m length local.
Cut down to size, chopped the ends off and welded back on, splosh of paint (pointless but already had it) Bolted in so can move up/down in future if reqd.
No close ups of my gas mig efforts to protect the Forum from the "obscene publications act"
Really should practice more rather than do it when I need to - They will hold alright..
Got some 18mm OSBS, 3 coats yacht varnish, stuck 60kgs on, getting 10mm deflect in the centre, not a lot in the scheme but bugged me.
I was going looking for some plate and found some Ikea box type brackets, cut some more racking lengths down and bolted the spine down the middle (ran out of pointless paint at this stage)
Now rock solid and ready to go - the "to go" bit is prevaricating in pulling the old one out and sorting out all the current carp setup....
Posting this has pushed me on to get it swapped out
