I'm going to make some benches next week.
I've got all the steel except to top
uprights are 100 x 100 x 4 box and the rails are 40 x 40 3 angle.
Tops will ply until I can get some 3mm steel plate.
Now the question is do I weld them or bolt them?
The top rails will be no problem bolting together as I'll have access to get a spammer on the head of the bolt as the nut is tightened. The problem will be the Lower rail as any bolt will have to be put in from the inside about 300mm in from the end.
Bolting means that they could be disassembled and moved round the unit. Welding will probably mean they'll be too heavy to move.
it's 2 separate benches one 2000 x 1000 and one 3000 x 1000
about 1000 high. The 100mm box is cut at 1120 long at the moment and may just be a higher bench than the drawing shows at 1000. It's going to be a lot of work to cut 10 lengths down 120mm with and angle grinder or hacksaw
