Best place for new Compressor Pump

Looking for recommendations for sources for a new pump for my tandem compressor.

Best I've found price wise so far is Power Tools Direct, apart from no name Ebay pumps these seem to be winning for me at moment but the assembled experts here may know different.

Not too fussed on make, I'll make the necessary modifications to get it to fit. Needs to be 3 or 4 HP

No it was actually made by ERP, but they're all fairly similar.
Thinking about a Clarke pump though as they seem cheap enough to be worth a punt.

got one of them for 75 quid. all was needed was rewire it and one new 3hp motor been using it for blasting for years

had this for years....Atlas CopCo....suprisingly quiet.....need the air it produces but just to bigger draw on the elec....3 phase....soon to be solar powered....shame

Aaah, OK, makes sense. I'm torn between a MM (Clarke) pump and a B3800B. Strangely Power Tools Direct are a good bit cheaper than MM, even allowing for a VAT free day.

the guy i got it off was greedy and asked if i could rewire it i said didnt know anything about them .a month later it was in a pile of scrap at the back of his garage .i asked him how much and he said 75 quid thats how i got it cheap. just a few contactors and a timer to rewire and one new motor and its fine

The only problem I've ever had with mine was a corroded valve, the little spring loaded one under the switch (something to do with off-loading?), which I got a replacement for from Clarke who couldn't have been more helpful.

As are the Clarke things I suspect, not a patch on what they used to be. Used to come with a proper Condor, or Danfoss on/off and unloader, even the small ones.

Err, no actually, it's got well known Chinook K17 pumps on it which are v.expensive, I think the issue is even quality gear needs maintenance and the scrap yard it came out if ran it until it wouldn't.
