Best supplier of stainless 316 BSP pipe connectors etc.?

Just priced up my connectors needed to replace the drain cock and connect the auto drain and have a direct outlet that bypasses the auto drain ( so I can completely drain the tank ) i.e. blast any crude out without going through the timer.
So just a number of 90 elboys, reducers , nipples, hose-tails, reduction bushes etc. To go from 3/8” to 1/4” and attach 1/2” into the auto drain and a mini ball cock. Note the long connection is going to be a 1/4” hose ... and even without the hose and clips looks like £34!

So I wondered is there a cheaper, online supplier, that sells good quality BSP fittings? .. or is that just the price one has to pay.?

That’s what I’d look at for cost. 1/2 bsp is what a 15mm domestic pipe uses

BSS is like Travis Perkins. They have a very variable discount scheme and you will be stung if you end up paying list price. Right now, some branches of BSS are click and collect only.

Why do they need to be stainless? That is only really used if the substance going through the pipe is corrosive or for hygiene. Normal black iron, red oxide paint or clear coat will outlast you. Galvanised iron if you want (but will need the stilson scars touching up).

JTM Plumbing have a good selection of black, galv. and brass so would be a good place for a materials price comparison.

Traditionally, compressed air pipework has always been installed in galvanised pipework and fittings. Given that the inside of the air receiver is probably just uncoated mild steel, very little benefit in using anything more than galvanised.

I wanted stainless, as hopefully if I see rusty water, then I know it comes from the tank and not from either the tank or the pipework to the auto and manual drains.
I keep kit a long time, so might indicate a tank rust problem in the distant future. Plus the valve is stainless so hopefully it wont crude up or ever need replacing.
But hell I am a newbie to all this. And I did think it might only cost an extra £5 or so.
