About 12inches high, what artillery would that fit?

There were a load of 305mm Howitzers in WW1 & 2 from various countries.

And I think there was a BL12 (12inch) fitted to some British Gunships in the early 1900's?

Shot in the dark, at 12" high perhaps some kind of wartime anti-aircraft gun like a Bofors? Knowing the diameter would help.

Looking at the rolled up dollar notes and the base it looks like to be 7.62mm NATO.
Or .308 Winchester.

Around 50mm or 2inches would be good.
It's to scale Bofor I could start with do you think it has a taper?

I guess it is 79mm high.

If the cartridge is a 7.62mm like @The_Yellow_Ardvark suggests, it'll be 4.5" without the dangerous, pointy end. Andwith a very slight taper afaik.

You've got to share with us what your next creation incorporating it is going to be?

Yes that's the scale of it so the shell I'm looking for would be about 300mm or 12inches overall.

I'm recreating the original artwork.

I got some groove pole and made a pin to hold the note.
