Took the Grandkids to Whinlatter forest visitors centre today, its the central area for the Ospreys that nest there each year, they enjoy a few of the fish from the lake but have probably done as much for tourism as all the mountains put together.

These were on display, not overly impressed with the large sculpture but the one with the fish was well done.

Just think rusted would have given more depth, I am not a great lover of stainless.

I especially like these pieces that show the animal in a not so traditional pose. Looks even more life like.

Yep..my thoughts exactly, I did wonder if the first one was designed as one of those 'artistic representation' pieces that you are suppose to stand back and announce in a posh voice that you can see the 'statement' of the maker...or it could have just been made by Fred in his shed for 50 quid

I think my 7year old niece could fashion something better, but its horses for corses i guess

It looks alot like one of yours shirazman, slightly differnt though, the more i look at the fish the more i like that more than the bird

Sorry I don't but there were some business cards at the base of it, a quick phone call and they would tell you or if you want to wait until the Grandkids wish to empty my wallet again I will find out.

It really was an outstanding bit of work, next time I am taking my camera for some close up shots...so tempted to 'have a go'

its a guy called David Athey.. thought i'd seen this before. If i'm allowed to say i'm not overly keen on his bird of prey sculpture..i just dont think they capture movement...but hey who am i? just my opinion. gotta say though some of his small stuff is fantastic, really good, check out his website. A talented man. Just wish i had the time for full time sculpting but got to keep my day job ...wife and kids with hand out every friday
