Blackhawk spot welder info needed

I have a Blackhawk spot welder in for repair, model WE 1200 , two part spot welder with controls etc. in a seperate box. I need a pdf of the owners manual and also the electrical circuit. I will post photos later.

Had a chance to look at it today. Plugged it in and switched on, arced like mad between the copper probes, then blew the plug fuse. Now there does not seem to be any spring to keep probes apart until handle is aqueezed. In the enlarged photo the spring on the rod does not serve any purpose and floats around. Looks like someone has repaired/replaced the rod wth the spring on. Does anyone out there have to same welder and can tell me if that rod is incorrect? 13 amp plug on machine is a bit underated as label on back of machine states 20Amp. current draw.
