Blast Cabinet Build

So here we go, started with a 55 gallon drum dad got from work, I know wodge still has another drum that's mine still needs collecting, will tell you what we have planned for that one later on

And then we cut out at the top (We left the other holes in as these can be used for airline,vacuum setup, you will see in next pics)

The holes you can see

Hydroponic vents for arms, I did buy some pvc gauntlets from screwfix but they are not wide enough, But have found some better ones that they have in £8 mind you !!

Thats where we are now,

Screwfix = £7.78 toggle catches and gauntlets these are going back tho.

Tool station = £18.13 light, bosch cutting blades these are going back tho wrong ones, sickaflex, round vent.

Wilkinsons = £1.16 weather strip

Weather strip is for sealing against lip of the drum and lid we are going to make from the other oil drum, The vent is so clean air can be sucked in, The vacuum (i still need to get from screwfix) will suck all the particles etc into the vacuum, The sikaflex to seal the vents to the drum, Toggle catches for lid and there you ahve it, i have bought a blast gun syphon one from ebay. But i still need to get vacuum,perspex or window,steel

Will jet wash the drum out (before i empty the oil into a waste container

Just copied and pasted this from a vwforum i go on thought you might enjoy this( me and my dad have done this btw) The hinges will be welded around and then welded in the hinge holes,Drum has been cleaned out today but no pics i need to hand scrub in side as it's never gonna work if i don't scrub at it.

Looking good! I thought about making a blast cabinet from an oil drum before I got a good deal on a well used Guyson.

Suggestions:-
i) Get some plastic film sticky stuff to cover the viewing window. I got a roll from Smiths used for covering books. does about twenty times on my glass.
ii) If you can rig up a holder for the gun inside the casing and run the air off an external switch. Holding the gun and trigger becomes very tiring for long periods of blasting.
iii) fit some foam to the inside of the air inlet vent to stop dust escaping.
iv) Open up the full end of the drum so you can easily remove the used grit.

Got ahome made cabinet made from shelving, gloves are held against the hole with a 4" plastic pipe connector, just pushed in, works a treat
