Blast gun fault?

I got this blast gun with the Eastwood kit i got.

Only way to stop the flow is by the tap on the gun lines as the seal on the gun tip does not align as in the pics,

As you can see it doe snot seat fully

Held back slightly

Can this be fixed or what is wrong with it ?

As rtbcomp said i would expect the block on the end to be free floating so it aligns with the nozzle end to fully seal, probably rusted solid.

Nope, i thought that and removed the pin to see if it is stuck but it is tight in the holder and cant/nowhere to swivel..

i just double checked and the stopper ? fits snug in the holder. Also free to move if it could.

Sod it.

Just redrilled the hole and ground the edges back a bit so it can move a bit. Need to stickt e steel foot back on with some epoxy though as the glue softend when i was grinding it back.

Will git it a go tomorrow if its a nice day.

Still though.

Why was it like that and would not seal ?

Nope, the tip sits in the knurled housing and screws down tight, if you loosen the knurled housing then the tip loosen and then not seals.

Tried that, will not fit if i change it around. Bolt hole is not in line.

Just had a look on the Frost site and in the picture the nozzle looks to have a slope on the front that would match the block angle, very strange.

Now if the angle was to other way it would seal better as the tighter the lever pushes the block onto the tip.

The way in the pic on Frost i cant see it sealing/working as the seal pad will just go past the tip, wouldnt it ?

If the tip is worn it would wear at an angle though not horizontal.

a new seal made with the angle to match will do the job

I just ground the sides back and redrilled as in the pics above so the sealing pad can swivel now

Anyway still puzzled by it but it is ok now by looks of it, going to have some breaky and give it a blast.
