Blast Media Sifter Screen

I'm going to be sandblasting with silicone carbide 120 mesh size. I can only find one filter screen, see here https://www.frost.co.uk/sifter-screen-sieve-blast-media.html
Would this do or is there something better around?

Oh, just found this on YouTube, might be the way to go.

I made a better one than that, the mesh was sloping so the big bits didn't clog it up making it a continuous process. I used a tumble drier motor with an eccentric on the shaft.

Here's my method, think I'm working on a smaller scale than many people here though


I sift twice, to remove the dust and a second time to remove the lumps. I don't have much space spare so this is minimal and only do occasional blasting.

and has 0.18mm holes in the mesh, I'm waiting for another with 0.3mm holes to see if its any better for me.

and the larger one for removing debris is a £3 stainless steel four sifter from ADSA, and they still sell them

pushing the sieves on the wide mesh is easier that trying to hold the sieve in your hand.

if its just mesh you want, you can get it cheaply from the far east via ebay, I did get some from this seller first

I see they do a variety of mesh sizes,

what would people say would be best for filtering 120 grit?
I see on Ebay is a flat bottomed flour sifter for £2.79. just found one even better price £1.09 inc post.
Don't think will buy any SS mesh from China I won't be filtering loads and all the time.
So think will go with your approach. Thanks for tip of pushing around on the wide mesh to save holding.
The only thing I can think off the top of my head for the wide mesh would be a fridge rack or an oven one, any other ideas?
If thought your method was too slow, sieves not really wide enough. I could get a washing up bowl, see attached and get some suitable sized mesh for sifting 120 grit from China. Cut out the bottom of washing up bowl or cat litter tray and stick the mesh down on the inside. Anyone ideas on how to cut out bottom of bowl, coping saw don't think would be big enough, something like a plasterboard cutting knife? I could use a red hot knife off the cooker hob but don't think would produce a very clean accurate cut. Would be better if can get a washing up bowl with a flat bottom.

120 grit is very fine (0.125mm on average), its just about dust size, that should easily go a through .20mm mesh. if its just debris you want to sift out, you could use any size above your grit size to just below the size of your nozzle so you do end up blocking it. the large the holes in the mesh, the quicker it is to sift
