Blast nozzles

Looking to make some blasting nozzles want 5mm exit but a fan,
Milled a block with a 5mm hole into a sloping fan aprox 30mm wide at exit, exit slot corresponding to equivalent of the 5mm dia hole,tried a V milled across the initial inlet hole \ jet media still not spreading out.
ANY suggestions?

Buy a tungsten carbide one from ACE Engineering, the venturi type may fit the bill.

If you're trying make one out of steel it won't last long.

as said buy a venturi type nozzle. it will give a slightly larger spread all round but doesnt work on the same principle as a high pressure water jet nozzle with a slot milled in , if u want larger coverage use a larger jet and a larger compressor to suit next one up from 3mm is a 6.0mm. that wil need a 90cfm comp

Lot of useful info + ideas, have made nozzle for soda blasting has run ok on 20 bags so far took 20min to turn up.
