Blasting Alloy wheels

I have a question I want to strip the paint on some alloy wheels In a effort to hide some marks I painted direct over the wheel with about 3-4 coats.. Anyways will wallnut shells work of the coarse type? The grit number is 12

probably best to use paint stripper 1st then blast them over depending on your compressor size and what nozzle u are using on your blast pot and what pressure

the paint comes off easy its the primmer
that a pain i use a pot blaster with alu oxide medium
they come up nice

Any reason why to strip first instead of blasting?

To minimise the amount of blast cleaning required would be my thought.

correct and it depends on what gear u are using . blasting at 90 psi using a 6mm jet at 90cfm soon removes coatings . anything smaller takes a fair time
