If done In the open how far does the sand settle away from the point of impact.

Is it worth building your own

more details needed. pressure cfm and the type of media u are using if u have neighbours that don't mind the noise and crap coming of a mobile diesel compressor and pot your in luck

Well pressure goes to 150, cfms is 14 abrasive is whatever I need

the pots are worth building. as for the mess if u can sheet an aeria off with a tarp its not to bad

They don't seem too bothered when they're doing buildings, just some tarps tied to scaffolding.

normally wear an air fed helmet but was just trying the comp after rebuild using pot in the field on our lasses plant stand .

I use a gas mask - the rubber is great the grit just bounces off. The lenses are just plastic though so I stick clear plastic over them. Wish I had a compressor that size though! I used to make do with 14cfm - very slow - but the business next door will let me use their 40cfm when I am ready - can't wait!
