blasting troubles

sandblasted some gear last week in cabinet and it seemed a disaster . couldn't see the job because of all the sand flying all over . even though it has the 4inch woodchip extracta on it had a manifold to clean for a mate today same thing then i realised i cleaned the cabinet out put the metal grid back in and forgot to put the rubber mat back in that covers most of the base apart from a bit round the edges . sand everywhere being blown up . mat back in and its working perfectly no dust or sand at all apart from the blast nozzle

with the bottom of the cabinet being tapered and you hold the blast jet down over it blows all the sand back up and round the cabinet and totaly impossible to see the work . the spent sand just drops in the hopper round the edge of the mat and stays there dusty stuff gets pulled through the 4inch ducting from up the side of the cabinet that has a fine mesh filter . a few pictures minus the rubber mat
