I have stripped of all the paint from the alluminium doors of my restoration project and have the following questions.
1-There are several dings on the outer panel, Is there a special filler required or is standard filler ok.
2-When spraying 2 pack do you mix colour with the laquare to give a better depth to the finish.

no special filler neededbut being alli.etch prime it first,not a heavy coat,just enough to cover it.no dont mix colour with lacquer
the lacquer alone will give you the depth.
if its a metallic paint it will give you no end of trouble,if you do put colour in the
lacquer.

Thanks Jaykay for the info:as stated i have removed the old paint,i do have several areas that have philiform corrosion,is there a product that i can use that will eliminate the corrosion so that it will not reform again?

ahh, the 60,000 dollar question.
i use jenolite.clean areas first wirebrush in angle grinder.then follow instructions to the letter.do not put jenolite on filler or paint as it will mess up paint that goes over it.

Thanks Jaykay i have got some Jenolite.
I have fitted new inner wings and outer wings to my project,what is the best procedure and product to use so that rust will not return?

you should really remove the dark brown coating that comes on panel.but not many do,me included.but rub that down with something like 220grit,to key it up well.then you prime as normal,then top coat it.under the inner wings spray a underseal. blast it right up into joints well,so it bridges across panel joints. so scrimp here as that is where it will start to rust out.
on the inside joints that show,get a brush on seam sealer and give it a good coat.when you get that on,brush it uver along the seam with some thinners. that will smooth it out nicely.let that dry before spraying primer over it,then top coat.

I remember reading somewhere that normal filler will not bond fully on aluminium.
