body repair stud welder.

not being very smart im looking at getting a stud welder for body repair. mostly because im doing more and more body repair and i need to make my lifie easier.
even vevor ones are a lot of money, however i came across this...

my question is, what type of welder can i pair this up with. im guessing its meant to be used with a spot welder, but could i get away with attaching it to a arc welder? or a tig maybe.

any ideas?

An arc welder would be my guess.

But I must stress this is just a guess.

An normal arc welder won't produce enough current. You need several hundred amps for it to work.
I have the same gun attachment which I fitted to a modified arc welding transformer. It works well. Of you leave it on too long it will melt the keys
