Ive recently fitted a "sandwich" type acrylic window in my camper build which was OK.
But... I needed a small height window for the raised fixed bed area & couldn't find anything except a glass bonded windows type.
The smallest window I ordered (& pre-checked the dims with the supplier to check it'd fit my space) has arrived.... & while the cut-out dims are good, the glass overlap means that the window cannot fit over an entirely flat body panel - the bottom edge will be over a raised area of a few millimetres, meaning there will be a larger "gap" for the (Dinitrol) adhesive to fill, hold & seal the window to the van side.
Its my understanding that these bonded panels are intended to fit onto a uniform & entirely flat surface?
So.... given that the Dinitrol is a very strong and waterproof product that does the sealing & bonding - will I simply be able to use a bit more to compensate for the slightly larger gap to bridge (which would be on the lower part of the 2 sides of the window, which is only a 240mm total measurement??
(My gut feeling is that it should work OK... but without any experience to go on - I thought the Hive Mind here might provide enlightenment )
TIA, G.
