Decided to make one for the patio, ornamental rather than functional but still the real thing.
Borrowed a nice bit of sandstone off the local beach, ten mins with a facing hammer and the base was nice and flat.
Holes drilled easily and scraper made and secured in place.
Then I sold it .
Two reasons... coming from the beach I forgot the stone will be salt laden, I realised there was little chance of moss growing to give an aged look which is what I wanted.
The second reason was the rubbish weld, I used the last of my good rods and had a few of some unknown brand left, I now remember why I had them left, they were a nightmare to use.
So it's easier to make another than grind them back and run a tidy weld, the next one will be red sandstone.
This one is now sitting in a stables courtyard, the lady is delighted with it and it paid for a couple of boxes of good rods.
