Boring Bar tips

I have this Kennametal Boring Bar. The bar itself is 5/8" and I had a couple of tips with it. I have used the tips up but I never did have the reference for the tips. I have these (for another tool) and trying one on the bar today shows me I should have really been paying attention. Can anyone help?

Well they're not dcmt 07, as you've found out, lol.
The next size up of same shape insert, it would fill the pocket and the locking pin would secure it.
Were the original inserts double sided or single? That would be the difference between a DCMT and a DNMG... Or similar... I'm looking for a DC## or a DN## 09 as that's the sort of size it looks... But nothing is coming up on Google searches... So might be slightly bigger or smaller... Might even be an 11... Hard to tell.

Is there no Kennemetal code on the bar?

I'd say it takes DNMG or DNMA inserts. Is there a code on the tool?

As has been said, code on bar will tell you but looking at the seat it would seem to be a negative insert, especially if it is lever lock, as it seems to be.

Shim or anvil is the usual name for it, it protects the seat if an insert breaks. Most of the better quality tools have them.

Do you have the engineers little black book? It has an excellent section on carbide tips. I deciphered which ones I needed for some tools I got with a machine recently. Might be a ccmt 09 as looks similar angle to the ones I got.

Surely a huge brand like Kennametal have a product code search or something to decipher them on their website? The tip tools I got were a polish brand I think, and they had one on their site.

Aye, not very helpful that. Did a quick search and can find people listing one for sale but no insert info.
Are the edges of the seat angled or straight? That will determine whether it is negative or positive insert.
