Bosch GSB 13 RE keyless chuck won't tighten fully.

Hi all,
I managed to do something to my new Bosch Professional GSB 13 RE drill (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004Z0T4TO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
a few months back that meant the the jaws of the keyless chuck became miss-aligned.

Now I can't seem to get the chuck to tighten enough to hold a drill firmly to successfully drilling some metal today. The bit just spun in the chuck.

I seem to vaguely remember there might be some way to re-align the three jaws but I can't remember how (old age I'm afraid). I would be grateful if anyone could advice me how to re-alling the jaws.

If it is new, send it back and get a working one.

Thanks but that's not an option. I guess I'll just have to buy a replacement chuck unless anyone knows a repair.

I need a decent make for my Hitachi corded drill.....keyless never been that good...
Rohan ? were supposed to be good but looking at ur's.....!!!!!
might go back to keyed again....
the last Bosch product I bought was made in China.....never again....
did buy a set of metal extreme drills from DeWalt....they have a 3 sided ground shank....so easy for keyless and no slip....
but my drills were made from Chineseum...more over priiced cr@p from DeWalt...

If the chuck is destined for the bin, see if it's possible to disassemble, and see what's gone wrong.

Hi all,
I decided against the "hitting with a hammer" approach and removed the small circlip, and the outer covers. I could then see that one of the jaws had slipped one thread and with the covers off this was relatively easy to reset. Putting all the bits back to gether the jaws were now all level and the chuck works correctly.
