Bowl for the kitchen

After fitting the new splashbacks we needed something to control the clutter of biscuits and snacky bits in the corner.
it also had to match and look nice. Cold day at work so turn the under bench heater on and stay in one place all day.
Made of 8mm hot rolled bar and treated with Gun Blue after polishing.
Some oaf was terribly offended when I gave them a price for a similar item 'It's only a bowl' they said. True but I had to make it.
No way would I pay that sort of sum for a bowl either.
Guesstimates on a price if you like.
Rings all homemade as well.
I used a lampshade liberated from a skip as a former.
Then got distracted by the patterns and had to take a photo break.
I might have a new career as a mystic looking at this

Very nice. How did you make the rings?

With this tool that I made for myself.
Quite simple to make and use makes rings from about 40mm up to around 90mm.
Just thread the bar under the cross bar on the tool inot the nut brutally welded onto the spindle and turn away. A good 90 second workout

Different sized tubs give diferent sized rings

There was a lot of thinkiness in getting to to work but well worth the effort

All up getting on for a day and a halfs work.
Probably unsaleable at that price but thats fine by me

That is part of what takes the time, but I love the effect.
Clearing off the spatter is a hideous job. tap tap tap tap tap etc etc
