boxer twin? what's the twin for?

Yep. Boxer 155 twin. Why the twin?
It came from ebay, hardly used, perfect order but a bit dusty and very cheap. I'm quite enjoying it, I can run a bead down the edge of 0.8mm steel on 0.6 wire and CO2 without burning and stick 4mm together without thinking twice. So much better than the dreaded SIP....
But what's it got two of?

A geared driving wheel? Twin then as in drives on the top and bottom roller?

Nah, got the usual setup, Driven wheel and roller bearing. I'm really quite pleased with the thing as it just works and the range of wire speed and power settings you can use is remarkable. I have only got a sip to compare it to though.
It does have terminals for changing polarity I assume for gasless, if you'd really want to do that. Still, it's been damn good at everything I've asked of it so far so I might try it and see if it's as good with that too!
You never hear the good stories about these things on here - I want to change that! They are rather good!

Twin - two poles - positive and negative - dual purpose - gas and gasless.

Still working.. I like stuff that just works and doesn't need fixing.. I can reccomend one of these welders any day!! Not tried it on gasless yet - and not really wanting to! As cheap ebay buys go this has to rate as one of my best!! I hardly touch the wirefeed speed, just play with the power to get the right penetration. much better than the SIP thing I had before.
I realise the BMW connection. I like them too, never had one, was into the fast jap stuff till I got wiped out..
