hi has anyone tried adapting an oxy acetylene torch to work as a flamefast style unit.ie propane fuel and compressed air.
debating trying it as a means of getting a small controllable flame for general heating(landrover owner)of stubborn nuts etc

it would just snuff out .using propane and oxygen through an acetylene torch is dificult enough to regulate

You would get more heat out of a straight propane or mapp gas torch.

It dos'nt work. Some years back I thought I would try it as compressed air contains around 21% oxygen. All my methods to mix it with propane failed.

whats up with Oxy Acet or Oxy Propane? I use both with a Murex 5 set up and they work a treat. I tend to keep the acetylene for the welding/brazing/cutting jobs and use propane for heating although the propane does also braze perfectly well. I have even used a welding nozzle with propane to cut the heads off bolts.
