Breathing Air Hose

Hi Guys,

Great forum, have learnt most of what I know from this website!

Just looking at breathing air hoses for a 3HP compressor. Cheapest I can see is the Sealey low toxic breathing hose for £95 including VAT!!

Does anyone know of a cheaper (but quality) breathing air hose? Because I reckon i'd need two wouldn't I? (One before the coalescent filter and one after?)

Codan breathing hose is probably the best, find a stockist from their website.

i just use normal decent rubber hose quarter of that price . some hoses stink others dont . mine doesnt

FDA approved, food quality hose can also be used, easier to find and cheaper.

Does your mask have a belt filter? I've got rubber hose from triple-filter pack to the belt, and that has a carbon filter on, so not worried about what the hose is leading up to it.

I have heard of people using diving air hose which seems a cheaper option, you would need to check the specs as not all are resistant to solvents etc

I have got a 3 stage filter but want to have a decent quality hose if i'm going to be breathing through it all day

Might get some of the Arco hose and some of these fittings for it

Arco are a good company, during the time we had our company we used to supply them. That product looks fine for your application and as it suggests it's made from FDA approved materials it should be non-toxic to humans. Only one caveat, it will stiffen up at low temperatures, by how much depends on how good the quality of the PVC is.
Almost any QR coupling would be fine, even a plastic one would be suitable.

If you intend to supply your spray gun and mask with the same hose 6mm ID is way too small you would need to nearly double that bore.
