Brief spy video 0f my stuff

Recently I have been playing about with making things move and spin.
I have some guy wanting to come and make wind powered sculptures so I dashed out in the rain to grab a clip for him.

The larger sculpture of a Diatom was an inspired act of vandalism; I chopped it off the stand and installed a simple pivot last week, I was relieved that it works. Doubt if the wind will get it going though as it is very heavy.
The other is me playing about with my money plants, the mechanism works fine but it needs larger sails.
More stuff to follow when the sun reappears.

Like those a lot Chunko, as I've said previously kinetic sculpture really appeals to me and is something I want to get involved in.

that's really neat, like them a lot. Get a gale and that diatom might just take off i reckon!! I played around with some kinetics at college, but I tended to shoot myself in the foot and make stuff too heavy for the wind to spin, and they always needed a human helping hand. No doubt you've seen those amazing theo jansen machines?

Theo Jansen? yes I have watched his flim clips lots of times, I even have a copy of his DVD somewhere.
Norm go on utube and look for Theo Jansen, you wil probably spill your coffee like I did first time I saw his work.

Boys will be boys.
On that clip if you watch closely you can just make out a piece of the rocket tumbling just past the 'cameraman'.
We have lost the film of me with a massive airbomb repeater firework on the back of my chop; that was a laugh.

Bet it would sound great in the garden on a really windy day with everything spinning, Theo Jansen, is THE MAN for moving sculptures, love watching his stuff in action.
