Bright flashes

Hello. Sometimes, while welding some bright flashes appear. I mean, the welding mask works well usually, but sometimes, 1 flash sometimes 2 or 3 together. They are white and very anoying. And sometimes they last almost for a second.

Whats the matter? Is it a problem with the mask or what? Any idea?

Increase the delay and the sensitivity on your mask. probably something is occulding the sensor momentarily. I used to have this happen sometimes on my old budget mask. Then I dropped it in the Thames and it wasn't a problem any more.

It may be the battery wearing out too. Mine tends to go around this time of year.

Try an old plain glass one, no electronics to fail.

It will also have a battery inside it, possibly soldered in. Try opening it up and you should find it.

How much use does it get, if lying unused for long periods it might be worth while setting it in front of a window to charge the battery via sunlight.

It’s not the solar panel that activates the panel to make it go dark. There will be at least two little sensors that are usually square that detect the welding and switch the panel accordingly. If the sensor is obscured then the panel won’t activate.

On my older mask the sensors are highlighted in red.

I have checked the sensibility and that seems to be the problem. because i was wleding ad only 25 amps.
