Hi, I have a old Bristol compressor that needs a motor, I can't use the old motor as an example as it has no name or spec plate, so I Am planning putting a 3hp motor on the compressor but unsure if it needs the 1500 rpm motor or the 2800 rpm one. I have tried to find information about the compressor on the net without success. Any advice is welcome, thanks.

more than likely a 1450 rpm running an old compressor its only the modern crap that tend to use 2800

size of the pulleys should give an indication if it is about half the size of compressor pump it will be 1500 if about quarter then will be 3000
