Broomwade compressor

Morning guys hope, everyone is well I'm looking at making space in my workshop and unfortunately I've come to the conclusion that my compressor takes up too much space at present and so I need a smaller one...... My dilemma is value...... It's a broomwade with original ben patents tag on original base and mounted on a 48 kilo calor bottle. I have sourced and fitted an original unloader valve and large brass pressure gauge ( wasn't easy or cheap to find lol ) it all works as it should and has served me well but needs must ......I haven't got a clue what it's value is and don't know where to start I just know they are hard to find now ...... So anyone got any idea what it's worth please chaps ? Picture to follow in a minute

Ha ha haaaa it does indeed @normspanners & does it well will keep ploddining quietly away merrily all day if I ask with no issues too so long as I treat it to new oil regularly

It's hard to value, I'm guessing around £250 - 300?

Wouldn't know where to start Bill..... Just know I spent more than that just on the brasswork to keep it original but would hate to break it up just to get my money back when I only wanna make space

I think it's common to struggle to recoup the cost of parts when it comes to selling. My figure is a guess, I could be way out.
Could you make space for the cylinder to be stood upright? Or hung from above or attached to a wall? The compressor part needn't be fixed to the cylinder. I'm just thinking of ways to take up less space and allow you to keep it? I know I wouldn't want to part with it.

I think you'd have to look hard/wait a good while to find the right buyer. While it will undoubtedly be a nicer machine, most people won't value it much higher than any other used small/medium sized compressor.

Last summer I bought two, huge, 10hp and 15hp bromwade comps for £125. No one else bid. I know they're going to be less desirable as won't suit as many people though. Wasn't there someone posting recently about a baby broom' they'd picked up cheaply too? I don't think people value the quality as much as they ought to.

Could always put it on eBay with a high BiN and see if anyone in your area bites.

i don't think you will save that much space if you want a compressor with a decent output and the direct drive are way too noisy, bills idea is the way to go, mount the cylinder upright with the pump and motor up top, as others have said I doubt you will make a profit on it whether you would get your money back depends on your total spend but I wouldn't count on it

the only comps that would fetch reasonable prices is a 3hp 14cfm mines home made and in good condition but wouldn't fetch the price of a cheap crap bought one of the same size
