Rebuilding what is already a homemade compressor to be precise. Here's my current compressor built around an old single phase compressor and a 100l 26 bar tank, and there's also the new compressor block I acquired:
The plan is to mount it on a very beefy console around where the current compressor is, along with a suitable motor. The hose reel will probably have to be relocated a bit as well. I've toyed with the idea of having the compressor outside in an enclosure and only the tank inside, but don't think it's a good idea, winter gets quite cold here.
I found some specs on this and from factory it would have a 149mm pulley on the motor and the motor would be 2.2kw and 2800 rpm. Fortunately I have exactly that kind of motor. However I was planning on putting in in my 2x72 grinder that I am also building.
I have this 4kw 2800 rpm motor however... But it doesn't have feet and is heavy as hell:
So I am thinking of using the 4kw on the grinder instead, it'll be beasier to accomodate it for a flange mount. I have a bunch of motors in my collection, but most are 1400 rpm, I have one 920 rpm one too, which I initally thought was best suited, but apparently these compressors like fast motors and a large reduction via pulley (for added starting torque I guess).
My shelf of motors (not all I have), added a washing machine motor to it this week, not sure it'll be that useful without a controller since it will probably run really fast otherwise, but maybe something could be made for that. Save it for later...
