built myself a a little welding table

Just finished the body of my table,
4x8' using 80x80x4mm box and a steel grating top.

Was a little spectacle over using the grating but its worked out nicely and has perfect right angles every where so helps layout

Going to box it all off with some sheet steel and make a door for the front thats lockable and store a few bits in there.

That grate isn't galvanized is it?

It is, but im not actualy welding it so I didnt think it would be a problem? Outdoors too so plenty of ventilation

Need a cheap curtain sort of cover for the patio doors that I can move out of way when not in use, about 6ft wide if I recall correctly ... ideas?

Would a heavy pvc tarp work? Would be pretty cheap for a 6x7ft

Anything plastic and thin will be full of holes in no time.

Welding suppliers stock heavy glassfiber matting, lasts quite well. I forgot to use it on my dining room window when
I was welding & grinding on the drive and made a lovely mess of the glass :-(

Yep exactly what ive done ... I grind well away from the window usualy but thats the only place for my welding table now.
