Burisch 3hp Belt Drive

Hi All,

Got a Burisch 3hp belt drive compressor, which has had very little use. I use it on an extension will with blue commando sockets, and it gets plugged into a 16 amp circuit with a type C breaker that I also use for my MIG.

The thing won't run. I've checked the extension lead, all good. And the reset button as well. Shortly after I brought it it had to be repaired - capacitors?

Does this sound right to everyone and if I need new ones again, how do I stop them from blowing again?

have u a cheap multimeter or 240v test leads . check for voltage at the end of leads in the starter switch and at motor conections

I don't know if it's the same for all motors, but I've started ones that have duff start caps by spinning them up manually before.

Someone else might be able to say if they all work like that, but, if they do, it would be a good test - take it off load, power it up, and give it a good spin?

anything wrong with starting windings u can give the pulley a kick or spin and motor will run at full speed .in either direction

Found out what the issue was. The live feed to the motor had come out of the terminal connector in the commando socket, hence no juice!
