buying a Brazing kit, buy second hand with bottles or not?

Hi,

If i buy a secondhand gas welding set with bottles, can I get these refilled easily somewhere other than BOC etc? I'm likely to replace the regulators and arrestors from any secondhand kit, unless they are new. I'm just wondering about buying a secondhand gas set with the bottles and trolley and hoses etc if i'm not able to get the bottles filled.

I'm sure this has come up on the forum lots of time, any thoughts or links helpful before purchase.

This has been covered many many times now! it is illegal to "sell" or transfer third party owned bottles with out there explicit permission (that then will not give!) as the user doesn't own the bottles they are renting them. EBay and the like will remove posts with bottles in when reported or found by there system and persist ant offenders have been reported to the police in the past.


Plus do you really want 220bar (ish if brain is working) of oxygen and a bottle of very flammable and unstable gas in the shed that has not seen any kind of safety test for a long while?

thats why you get an account get a pair of nice new bottels and chop your "bought" ones in a month or so later

BOC have got wise to this and have started putting new tags on the bottles
