c02 regulator advice please....

hello folks im in need of a new regulator as mine is now out of date.

got myself a new cylinder of c02 too, what sort of regulator would you advise i get for this cylinder?

where did you get the bottle from? looks like a standard side entry reg would do it

take the cap off and see if it is flat or a taper seat

If it's for personal use (you're a private individual using the reg at home, not giving it to an employee to use) then if the reg is in good physical condition I'd ignore the fact it's out of date. Especially as it's an inert gas not a flammable one.
I'm a qualified gas equipment inspector, and we have to recommend customers replace their regs when the date runs out to cover them and us from a legal point of view. But if you are sensible, and look after the reg (observe proper start up and shut down procedures) there's no reason you might not get another 5 years or more use out of that reg.
Of course, I accept no responsibility for the consequences of your decision, I'm just saying what I'd do in your shoes.

well put . in industry the regs would get used 7 days a week 360 days a year and bottles changed many times over 5 years . home use 3 or 4 bottles in 5 years .

No its only for personal use , but i like things to be 100% and one of The faces on the guages on my old regulator is warped so you never really know how much is left in it lol.

Buy a new one then if that's what you feel you need to do, my point is that a regulator doesn't automatically become a hazard the day after it's 'replacement due' date expires.

GasArc or Harris, those are regs I have experience of using and know to be good. There are plenty of others (the two I mentioned aren't the cheapest but they are excellent quality) out there though. If you're going to bin the reg every five years though maybe a cheapie one isn't a bad idea?
