Can anyone identify these engines?

I currently have about 20 engines in my warehouse. Returns from our pallet shipping business. People ship them. They get rejected then we end up with them back with us.
Had these 2 come in a while ago.
Any ideas what the one with the weird sump is? Never seen such a deep narrow sump before.

The one with the deep sump has casting Mark's on the head and a filler neck that looks a lot like VAG.
Maybe that hole through the sump is 4wd?
Possible an older car as most of the newer stuff has an oil sensor I think

There must be some part numbers on it somewhere? Get the number from the sump and if its vag I can look it up and see what cars/engines it was fitted in

The one with the weird sump is held together with torx bolts so I'm going to take a guess it's an opel/Vauxhall engine, the long oil filler neck would mean it's probably out of a van or people carrier.
The other one looks like a Toyota engine.

the top one looks like a toyota zz, if you find an engine number it should start with what variant it it. 1zz or 2zz etc

the sump thing is a merc a class i think

It looks like a merc cam cover and they use those torx bolts too

The top one with a metal cam Carrier could be a nissan also?
Looks very similar to micra

The other one would say merc possibly?

A class engine got me thinking.

Seen something very similar under the floor midship of a people carrier, cant remember the make.

The folk on here have lots of info about a weird mix of motors.

I did not notice the torx bolts on the sump, vw's have hex with internal torx.
I'm going to change my guess on the funny sump and go with merc A class as well now...

It sits in the car so the oil filler cap is horizontal.

Merc a class? But it's a big lump. I was guessing tractor
Says a lot for Merc decidedly agricultural!
