Intention is to print a cone which screws down and supports the whip aerial which is 1m long and about 10mm thick.

Inner dimension is in the region of 13mm.

It isn't 7/16" 28 TPI I can say that!

not enough threads to accurately measure pitch using a ruler like that. Right idea, just not a long enough threaded part.

You also need to learn how to use a caliper properly.. no idea what you're doing there

Looks much more coarse to me, I would guess no more than 20 TPI.

What is the od of the thread, and try to measure the pitch with the caliper, looks like there are 3 peaks to measure across

Thread diameter of the fitted part is just a tad larger, so the bulkhead nut will not engage, being slightly smaller in diameter.

I did a 9/16 x 12 and it starts but jams because the thread on the new part is too coarse. I'm going to try a 16TPI and see how that fits.

You've got two pitches in about 2.5mm so it's going to be somewhere around 20 TPI.

This would be my guess, I presume you do not have a thread gauge so get an M8 screw and test the thread with it.

Mad Idea, but If you print your cone with the hole the same size as the bottom of the thread, warm it up slightly, the screw the cone down. Wouldn't it cut its own thread?

The connector has writing on it: ROSENBERG... If you find the manufacturer, would there be a data sheet or drawing of the part or the one with which it mates?

What is the application? If it were plumbing, you would be looking in the BSP thread set for an answer. Is there a similar standard set of aerial/radio connectors/threads used in that field of use?

Nope! Nearest I can get with printed threads is 9/16 x 18TPI. It is tight but it may be the printed thread of course. I will have to go into my workshop and get a thread gauge I think.
