Can you ID this lathe?

In someone's garage, close to here. Took some snaps, but could not find a makers plate.

Photos are not good - was buried under stuff.

I don't recognise it but the saddle handwheel at the end of the bed is a giveaway.

I think the saddle is the most distinctive thing.

That torpedo shaped tailstock is pretty unusual too, should give someone a clue...

scrap value is more than its worth .and consider what it would cost to remove it for scrap it .would cost more in transport

I've seen worse brought back to life...

i didnt say it was unusable. just not got a good resale value due to its size and age

Not a definative answer but possibly a Colchester Master about 1930, many similarities before the enclosed headstck design took over in the 40s, the tailstock clamping lever, the cross slide apron support with its extra groove.There was a model with a headstock clutch-might explain the big lever on the front of the headstock, However the bad news, no gearbox selector on my pic. As with many Lathes of this period it will have been repaired adapted, modified. I`ll keep the grey matter engaged.

I'm not buying. I have a lathe, which is in me ex neighbours workshop, as I don't have space for it here (at the moment) so I'm not in the market for another...

..I guess, unless it was the most amazing lathe ever, at the most bargain price (which I knew it wasn't by looking, without knowing what it was!)

So my question was more out of curiosity.

But for background, they were asking 300

When all was said and done, my smart and brown cost me 100.

...yes, 100 pence.

(£181 with a load of bits that did not even fit the lathe... They went back on eBay,, with proper descriptions, and made £180 : )
